Intensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
New Dawn Eating Disorders IOP is developed for clients who require a significant addition to outpatient treatment in order to lessen their eating disorder symptoms. The IOP schedule is tailored to fit individual treatment and schedule needs. Most often, participants begin the program by attending 4-5 days per week and taper down to 3 days per week as they make progress toward recovery. A typical IOP day consists of one 90-minute psychotherapy group and one 90-minute Meal Group. IOP participants also receive weekly individual psychotherapy and nutritional counseling sessions. Family psychotherapy is provided as needed. The IOP provides comprehensive treatment while allowing the client to retain autonomy in her normal day-to-day activities. Length of time involved in IOP varies based on individual treatment needs but is typically between 12-15 weeks.
