Medically Monitored Detox

About the Facilities

Few Inpatient programs can provide Detox services in a setting that is separate and distinct from their Residential Program because of the expense involved with more real-estate and additional staff.  However, because our goal is to provide the maximum level of privacy and confidentiality, our Detox houses are separate from our Residential Treatment facilities, yet only by a block so that all the services and support provided by the Residential Programs are also available to the Detox patients.

There are two adjacent Detox facilities – one for men and one for women, totaling ten beds altogether. These facilities were updated in late 2006 to provide a more comfortable and pleasant setting for our patients. The Detox houses now have side and back patios, backyards with seating areas, and televisions in all of the rooms to make the Detox phase as easy as possible. We believe that the added staff support and privacy afforded to our Detox patients makes their stay a less distracting, quieter and more relaxing one.

About the Program

Our program has its own dedicated 24 hour staff consisting of a nurse, a certified addiction counselor and medical assistants. It is designed to provide a safe, comfortable environment that supports the needs of those requiring sub-acute, quasi-medical care.  Typically, the detoxification period ranges from 7-14 days depending on each individual’s physical and psychological condition and the rate at which they progress through the withdrawal period.

In order to assist with the uncomfortable symptoms that often accompany the withdrawal period, Psychiatric Evaluations, Follow-ups and Medication Management are provided for every client. Additionally, participation in Individual and group counseling are available to those who are ready to begin the next phase of treatment.  Residential and/or Outpatient treatment is stressed as a necessary next step in the recovery process to help ensure that the chance for relapse is reduced as much as possible.  While Detox is covered by most insurance plans, if you plan on paying for Detox, please see our fees page.
