Day Treatment Program

New Dawn maintains a full service outpatient clinic with a range of treatment options designed to ensure that every client, regardless of their life circumstances or commitments, has the opportunity to receive the chemical dependency treatment they need.

Currently offered at our Sacramento Outpatient Facility, Day Treatment is an intensive, highly-structured individual and group therapy based rehab program offered to individuals that need the stabilization and support that Residential treatment provides but who are unable to commit to 24 hour inpatient care. Day Treatment meets six hours a day for five days each week, Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm.  One advantage of this comprehensive rehab program is that our clients have the opportunity to spend time with a wider variety of staff members and thus benefit from a more integrated curriculum.  Moreover, all Day Treatment clients are seen by a New Dawn Staff Psychiatrist for a full psychiatric evaluation (not including those that received an Evaluation while enrolled in the Sacramento Residential Program), and also for Follow-ups as necessary.

Once the client and the treatment team agree that the chance for alcohol or drug relapse is low enough to reduce the intensity of treatment, they will suggest transition to a lower level of rehab (such as one of the four Intensive Outpatient groups located in Sacramento). This transition typically occurs after two to four weeks of Day Treatment have been completed with the client maintaining total abstinence from drug or alcohol use during that time period, but is ultimately dependent on each individual’s progress in relation to their unique treatment plan.

Program components are similar to those provided in the Residential program, and include family therapy, relapse prevention, Life Coaching, and a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach to chemical dependency treatment. If you are not planning on using insurance to cove the costs of treatment, please refer to our fees page.
