What to Bring For Residential Treatment

The following items are suggested in order for your stay to be comfortable.  Please plan on packing for a 30 day stay as this is the time required to complete the Residential program.

Things you will need:

  • 7 day supply of casual, comfortable clothing that is machine washable
  • Workout clothing / bathing suit for the Health Club
  • Toiletries – toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, deodorant, shampoo, etc.
  • Phone card or calling card
  • Names, addresses and phone numbers of your:
    • Physician
    • Family members and/or emergency contact person

 

  • Driver’s License or equivalent ID and Insurance card
  • Prescription card if you have one
  • 30 day supply of prescribed medications if possible
  • $100 in spending money for calling cards, cigarettes, quarters for payphone, new prescriptions, etc.
  • Acceptable form of payment for your co-pay and/or deductible (credit card, cashier’s check or money order).
  • An Openness to Change and a Positive Attitude!

Optional Items to Bring

  • Notebook, pen and/or pencils
  • Books or magazines
  • Soda, Gatorade, or Bottled water
  • Your pillow(s)
  • A plastic mug
  • Cigarettes (nicotine replacement therapy is available for those wishing to quit)

What NOT to bring

  • Over the counter medications; vitamins, herbs, supplements
  • Cold medications, Tylenol, aspirin, ibuprofen, etc (these items will be provided by the nursing staff, if ok’d by physician)
  • Television sets, portable DVD players
  • Walkmans, head phones or IPOD’s, etc.
  • Electronic games
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Mouthwash with alcohol content
  • Mobile phone or beeper
