A Note About Our Program Fees

Because we are a Participating Provider with most payers, you will receive the highest benefit level of coverage thereby reducing your overall patient responsibility. Moreover, New Dawn handles all of the benefits and eligibility verifications, insurance pre-certification and authorization requests, and insurance billing and follow-up that is required in order for your stay to be covered.

Additionally, with the exception of Outpatient Program drug tests and Psychiatric evaluations and follow-ups, our Program fees are all inclusive, meaning there are no additional charges for labs, field trips, program materials, health club access, etc. Moreover, in an effort to reduce the barriers to chemical dependency treatment, our treatment programs are among the most affordable in California.

For those that plan on paying for their treatment, or are using their insurance but need to know the cost of treatment once their insurance benefit is exhausted, the following program charges are listed below.

Please note that payment for each Phase of treatment is due in full at admission, and no refunds are provided once 4 days of treatment have been completed. Please see below if you would like to learn more about financing options offered by Helpcard.

Self Pay Inpatient Charges for Adults

Phase I – Detoxification, Stabilization, Medication Management and Introduction to Chemical

Dependency Recovery

$7,000 for 10 day program

$700 for each additional day if medically necessary

Phase II – Residential Treatment Options

$12,000 for 30 day program (when Phase I is not medically necessary)

$7,000 for 20 day program (following successful completion of Phase I)

$400 for each additional day or for non-covered day if you are using insurance

Phase III – Extended Stay / Transitional Rehabilitation

$9,000 for each additional 30 days (following successful completion of Phase II and subject to availability)

Outpatient Services for Adults

Day Treatment

$4000 for 20 sessions (6 hrs/day)

Intensive Outpatient

$5000 for 40 sessions (3 hrs/day)

Outpatient Services for Adolescents
(financial assistance may be available through CAREs)

Day Treatment

$5000 for 20 sessions (6 hrs/day)

Intensive Outpatient

$6000 for 40 sessions (3 hrs/day)

Relapse Prevention / AfterCare Program

Free for LIFE for program completers! Our Aftercare program consists of a weekly group focusing on relaps prevention and transitional recovery skills. This program is facilitated by our certified addictions counseling staff. Individual sessions are also available.
For those not completing the program, Aftercare is available for free for the first month following treatment. Thereafter, Aftercare will be provided at a cost of $200 per month (this includes four sessions which are offered every Saturday).

Cost of Treatment vs. Cost of Substance Dependence

Unfortunately, drug and alcohol treatment programs by and large are not inexpensive. However if you take into account the financial problems that will persist if you don’t free yourself from your addiction, such as the legal costs associated with a DWI/DUI ($15,000 - $20,000), Divorce ($15,000 - $30,000), Liver Transplant ($314,000), or Stroke ($140,000), or the costs associated with job loss or injury, the cost of treatment to avoid these likely consequences is MINOR!

When considering a program, try to focus more than anything else on the quality of the staff, the variety of program components and the clinical approach, because these three criteria will be the most determinative for your success, other than your own personal commitment to your recovery of course!
