Registered Dietitian
Full-time Registered Dietitian for Eating Disorder Program – Sausalito & San Francisco
Be a part of a program that values its employees and their dedication to eating disorder treatment. The incumbent will conduct a thorough nutrition evaluation for each patient, and will serve as the primary employee responsible for patients' nutritional needs. Daily responsibilities also include: supporting patients and staff with guidelines for meal preparations and outings, assisting patients with meal planning and proper portioning, developing and facilitating nutrition groups including utilizing intuitive eating principles. The RD will be expected to attend treatment team meetings, and provide consultation to the rest of the clinical staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Must possess the equivalent of a Bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition/Dietetics and have completed an American Dietetic Association internship; and be a registered Dietitian.
* One year experience in eating disorder treatment is preferred.
* Experience in working effectively with patients who have anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder by setting limits and also being compassionate to their situation.
* Knowledge of the dietary needs of individuals with eating disorders as well as the signs and symptoms of medical consequences that is commonly associated with eating disorders.
* Demonstrated experience in providing therapeutic nutrition counseling that involves flexible thinking, clinical judgment, knowledge of behavior change principles, and empathy and compassion.
* Demonstrated experience in providing nutrition counseling across several levels of care for eating disorder treatment (i.e., outpatient, Intensive Outpatient Program, Day Treatment/PHP, residential/inpatient hospital).
* Experience in educating and training colleagues (e.g., psychologists, therapists) on nutritional matters and relating to colleagues in a way that facilitates respectful and collegial work relationships.
* Experience in creating weekly menus for several individuals that are tailored to their specific nutritional needs and take into account patients' readiness for change, ability to manipulate or sabotage progress, etc.
* Experience with the concepts and application of Intuitive Eating and non-diet approaches.
* Experience with weight loss surgeries (pre and post) within a binge-eating disorder population.
* Ability to self-reflect, introspect and have an open mind.
* Having a passion for eating disorder treatment is a plus!
